I was panicking way before... actually after my first two pledges... and we've gone down that path countless times, cause other games pretended to give us what we need. I waited a long while to get a feel of the general opinion and also watched carefully how the monetizing model is built and how the devs speculated about its importance.
I think now is a good time to panick, cause we all want a regular influx of new players and we cannot compete with the new games coming out. And its not about a niche thing, I continue to insist that if Lord Gariott chooses to listen to the players he helped forge, there will be such a big influx of new players that we'll have to re-program the game entirely.
I think I am very mature in my replies even if half my posts have been moderated. This is the truth and I refuse to only argue about it in Dev+... the decisions will affect everyone.
This is why 30000 + people can be seen on pre-renaissance UO servers... and countless other games that took back the concept... from all over the world. People are TIRED to be part of a giant grinding wheel, and even worse, people hate to even help one of its gears rotate. It's not a game, its entertainment.
It's like comparing a real movie with a transformers movie, ok its a movie but its just entertainment and at some point you got so much competition that you can only get so much and once the pie is eaten, its gone people don't really come back to it.
I love the story and I'd be so sad to see it ruined for the sake of political correctedness.
