I should have created the #Immersion tag, probably :D Heh

I'm also with the pure roleplayers... I cannot enjoy full immersion without roleplay, single player or multiplayer.

So this is not a good start.

What makes no sense makes no sense, you can say you have to please the new players until your face is blue, it still makes no sense.

It's like the argument that if they wanted to do a second UO they wouldn't have hired Hickman. Well I'm sorry to break down your logic like this cause you probably don't deserve it but... common.

UO became too big too fast, and the effort put in storywriting (knowing applying such a complex story is already a challenge and required many people) was a draft cause other priorities like preventing hackers from ruining it all were put forward. UO was a genius idea that was turned into a nightmare by EA... I'm not going to speculate on their intentions but, DUH.

Sometimes I'm not sure if they're trying to insult the UO crowd directly, or they're trying to blow off steam by very clumsily using it as an example.

I really don't feel down to earth with any of this, its not very professional either coming from an official company.
