On Realism

Unnatural and unrealistic doesn't even apply, it's a game for crying out loud! EVERYTHING is contrived! What one is striving for is a system of checks and balances that can accomadate the different asaects of the game. Natural and realistic is what you get in the real world, a fantasy game is for escaping (for a time) reality.
Arguing with you is like arguing with a stone wall.
Okay, why dont we then have people with pig heads that shoot fireballs out of their asses? Its just a game, "realistic"doesnt apply here! Or why dont we have free reagents and weapons in NPC shops? Because why not, its a game! It cant be realistic!
Unless you understand that SotA, just like UO, aims to emulate a somewhat REALISTIC social environment, not just some Hello Kitty Online with pigs shooting M4 bullets out their noses because its just a game, theres no point in discussing anything with you.
And also: realism is pleasing to the eye and the mind. People with normal sized heads are beautiful. People with small heads or with huge heads are not. Normal sized swords are coo. 5 meter long swords are not. Having to buy reagents or repair your armor after a battle is realistic, challenging and cool. Having the ability to pull a bag of reagents and new armor out of your arse once every two minutes is not.
But hey, it's just a game. Let us all have 3 meter long swords for arms and tentacles for legs and shoot lazers out of our eyes with no reagent or mana cost while we levitate and teleport around, creating massive blackholes in our wake as we fly at hypersonic speeds and engage in battles with no full loot because full looting is too mundane and mainstream, while being able to burn a hole trough a mountain with a lazor shooting out of your unmentionables is not.
