Too bad it is the opposite for me in this case.

In the case of the corpse stranded on an island, even logging off wasn't an option. The only option was calling a GM.
It coudl EASILY be changed by allowing ghosts to walk on water. Its only logical.

All the teleporting was a huge part of the tools of the pks trade.
If I were an UO dev, I'd make Gate Travel with a 30 min cooldown, and Recall with a 20 min cooldown. Problem solved.

I never said UO's mechanics were flawless. There are tons of things that could be changed for better. They were not for some reason.

And the never being on the losing side, since they generally ran in packs, was very much part of their game.
Got a problem with running in packs? Are you a...loner or something? Normal people ALWAYS run in packs, it is in our nature. We are pack creatures. Not like the pack llamas, tho.

I too love exploring on my own, but I'd never complain about packs. Cause I love being a part of a pack. it's normal and it's human. 

They just take it away from someone who did spend time farming new items and/or resources to make said items.

.hmm, yup, that describes the pks I remember so well from early UO, not the pve/pvmers.
This describes anyone who has been crippled by the PRESS X TO JASON style of the games of our age.

Too sterile and boring. Emulating a real world includes all kinds of unfair things.
